ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN EDUCATION: OPPORTUNITIES AND PROSPECTS
Within the framework of realization of the fourth UN Sustainable Development Goal, which considers quality education, the Department of Physics and Technology and the Higher School of IT and Natural Sciences of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University held the first international methodological seminar in the academic year. The theme of the event was “Introduction of artificial intelligence in the educational process: opportunities and prospects”.
The seminar gathered 112 participants – teachers of East Kazakhstan University, school teachers and college teachers from different cities and districts, including Ust-Kamenogorsk, Shemonaikha, Ridder, Altai, Tekeli, Ekibastuz, as well as representatives of educational institutions from Abakan (RF) and eastern and central regions of Kazakhstan.
During the seminar, the participants discussed topical issues of using artificial intelligence in education and its impact on learning processes. In particular, a team of teachers from Khakass Polytechnic College of Abakan, Russian Federation, presented two keynote speeches.
The first one was delivered by Dmitry Cherkashin and Irina Bryukhanova with a report on “Introduction of Artificial Intelligence in the Educational Process: Opportunities and Prospects”. In their presentation, they spoke about how artificial intelligence can be used to optimize learning processes, create personalized educational programs and support students with different educational needs. The speakers emphasized the importance of integrating new technologies into the education system to improve the quality and accessibility of knowledge.
The next report was devoted to the problems of using artificial intelligence in writing scientific texts. It was presented by teachers of information disciplines Yulia Borisova and Alexey Khachev. They considered issues related to the ethical aspects of AI application in scientific research, and also shared their experience of using intelligent systems to automate the process of writing scientific articles and creating new text materials.
The methodological seminar became an important step in the realization of innovative educational technologies within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and strengthening international cooperation in education.
