A WORKSHOP WAS HELD AT THE “DANA BALA” INCLUSIVE EDUCATION CENTER

The Center for Continuing and Inclusive Education “Dana Bala” of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University hosted a workshop within the framework of the project “Competence Center for psychological and pedagogical training and methodological and technological support of children with special educational needs”.

During the event, the participants got acquainted with the laboratories of the “Dana Bala” Center. Transformable verticalizer chairs, chairs, beds, exoskeletons for legs developed by S. Amanzholov scientists for children with locomotor disorders were presented. These patented devices are indispensable assistants for children with preserved thinking and attention. The transformable bed allows you to put the child in an upright position, transform into a chair for sitting or use in a supine position for learning.

Professional defectologist’s table with electronic learning materials and interactive simulators helps to arouse interest in learning, expand vocabulary, develop skills of description, storytelling and critical thinking, and teaches to divide words into syllables and speak correctly.

-The Kazakh language defectologist’s desk is an indispensable innovative assistant. It makes the learning process more interesting and effective. The smart mirror helps every child to achieve success. The table is equipped with an additional shelf for books and game panels. In addition, the child can work standing, which prevents curvature of the spine, – said the head of the scientific and educational institution of the “Dana Bala” Center Alima Alipova.

In the speech therapy laboratory, the participants got acquainted with mats for the development of fine motor skills, which help children learn colors and geometric figures. Sand therapy is used for the development of sensory organs.

In addition, the benefits of a heavy blanket designed for hyperactive children and children walking on their toes were demonstrated. The blanket puts pressure on the body, calms the child and helps them to concentrate on their activities. Its warmth creates a feeling of coziness and comfort. For children walking on their toes, the blanket helps to distribute the load on the foot, improving foot placement.

At the end, all participants, including teachers and kindergarten teachers, were presented with certificates.
