EAST KAZAKHSTAN UNIVERSITY STUDENT WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP IN DOHA

Bekarys Bekenov, a third-year student of the “Physical Education and Sport” educational programme, took first place at the International Open Taekwondo Championship held in the capital of Qatar. It was there that 1440 participants from 40 countries came to compete for the title of the strongest.

Bekarys has been practising Korean martial arts for more than a decade and has experience in major sporting events, including the Asian Championships.

-I have been preparing for a whole year. It was serious work and I am proud that I was able to show the best results. Thanks to my coach and my family for supporting me along the way,’ Bekarys shared his emotions.

It should be noted that the young man’s achievements in the international arena demonstrate not only individual success, but also the high level of training of athletes at S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University.
