A NEW GENERATION OF SCIENTISTS: 19 PUPILS DEVELOP PROJECTS AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

19 children are engaged in scientific research and develop author’s projects in East Kazakhstan University. The alma mater successfully operates a system of training “School-student-master’s student-doctoral student-researcher”.

There are many positive examples of this approach to training. For example, the eleventh-grader Amir Khamitov receives a membrane based on polyaniline and biopolymer, which is necessary for effective water purification. NIS students Kanatbek Akhmetkhan and Miras Zhomartov are developing a protective biocoating based on biopolymer. It is intended to protect the surface of optical devices from mechanical impact.

Adiyat Yerzhanov, a student of the second grade of the Valeological specialized school-complex for gifted children, is engaged in testing of biostimulator of plant growth with regulated photoperiodism.

As Adiyat’s mother, I express my great gratitude to the university administration for the focus on long-term prospects. The unique opportunity to be a scientist from the first grade develops a child’s critical thinking, independence, curiosity, logic, and responsibility. This approach to education is also career-oriented. I am confident in my son’s bright future,” Almira Zhaisanbayeva said.

Tenth-grader Kamilla Saskenova is actively engaged in testing nutrient medium based on fertilizer with succinic acid on potatoes in vitro using biotechnological methods.

Pupils of the Opytnypolskoi secondary school Polina Kravchenko and Renata Kashegulova within the framework of the republican scientific competition defended the project on the topic: “Development and use of biofungicides in combination with growth stimulants to increase the yield of tuber crops using biotechnology in East Kazakhstan region”.

-Our fertilizer with fungicide-stimulating properties for root formation of tuber crops can become a key step in solving environmental problems, as the use of safe fertilizers helps to increase yields and protect plants, – explained Polina.

All studies were conducted by schoolgirls in the laboratory of East Kazakhstan University, which has the necessary logistical equipment for deep analysis of the topic.

– S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University not only trains students, but also stimulates the development of science in the region, attracting young talented people to the scientific community. The guys from the school bench create for themselves a base of practical knowledge for further scientific career. And this is a great advantage among other applicants in the labor market, – said East Kazakhstan University researcher Valentina Nikolaeva.

Nariman Kayyrbekov, who, while still a student at his alma mater, developed an alternative to polyethylene materials, is a vivid confirmation of the success of the unique education system. He first visited East Kazakhstan University in his school years and still works in his native land. Today he is a junior researcher and a master’s student at the regional university.
