EAST KAZAKHSTAN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS PREPARE FOR THE XXXII WORLD WINTER UNIVERSIADE

Students of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University will defend the honor of Kazakhstan at the XXXІІ World Winter Universiade among students of higher educational institutions.

From January 13-23 in Turin, Italy, the national team will take part in 10 sports: biathlon, cross-country skiing, orienteering, figure skating, freestyle skiing, short track, ice hockey, alpine skiing, para skiing. Among 103 Kazakhstan athletes there are Amanzholov University students – Zeynep Kumarkan (short track), Fedor Bugakov (freestyle), Katrin Meskini (women’s ice hockey) and Evgeniya Zavyalova (orienteering).

According to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, about 2,000 athletes from 57 countries will take part in the competition. There will be 90 sets of medals in 11 sports.
