GENDER EQUALITY: SUPPORTING EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES IN EDUCATION

Gender equality is one of the key sustainable development goals endorsed by the UN. Despite the progress achieved, significant differences between men and women remain in many areas. According to the World Bank, women have only two-thirds of the rights available to men, which significantly limits their opportunities in economic and social life.

S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University actively supports the Sustainable Development Goal aimed at achieving gender equality. There are 114 girls studying at the Department of Physical Education and Sport and Physical Education and Primary Military Training who, despite stereotypes, choose professions that are traditionally considered masculine.

-Our university strives to create an inclusive educational environment where every student, regardless of gender, has equal opportunities for learning and development,” said East Kazakhstan University Rector Mukhtar Tolegen.

It is important to note that supporting gender equality in the educational process not only promotes equity, but also opens new horizons for the development of both women and men.
