HOW DOES AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY CARE FOR THE HEALTH OF THE POPULATION OF EAST KAZAKHSTAN REGION?

In Kazakhstan, the environmental situation in a number of regions has reached a critical level. For example, large industrial facilities are concentrated in the East Kazakhstan region, which disturb the ecological balance and lead to air pollution, having a negative impact on the health of the population.
According to the Bureau of National Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere in 2023 amounted to 80.9 thousand tons.
Negative environmental conditions affect the life expectancy of the population. For example, men in environmentally unfavorable regions live on average 1.9 years less than in favorable areas. For women, this indicator varies from 0.5 to 2 years.

One of the effective approaches to improving public health is the use of bee products. Bees collect and process valuable natural substances such as nectar, pollen, propolis, honey and royal jelly, which have unique therapeutic properties. These products help to eliminate toxins, improve immunity and strengthen the body. Compositions based on honey with the addition of bee pollen and royal jelly provide a complete nutritional diet.

The East Kazakhstan University Department of Biology conducts scientific research on the development of ways to improve the health of the body using bee products. The results of these works were presented at the scientific and methodological seminar “Ecological development and health saving”. The seminar participants discussed key aspects of environmental safety, risk factors and technologies aimed at health promotion.

It should be noted that such initiatives of the university are a significant contribution to the realization of the UN SDGs.
