“BIOHOUSE-2025: EKU-INITIATOR FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE

The Regional Children’s Environmental Festival-Competition “Biohouse-2025” organized by the Ecobiocenter of Education and Research together with the Department of Ecology and Geography of the Higher School of IT and Natural Sciences of East Kazakhstan University was held in the Palace of Schoolchildren Creativity of Ust-Kamenogorsk city.

The event was timed to coincide with the International Day of Biodiversity Conservation and the World Day of Reserves and National Parks.

The competition was attended by 20 team and creative environmental groups of students from schools in the city and its vicinity. The event presented models of plants and animals from the Red Book of the Republic of Kazakhstan, created by participants from recycled materials and household waste. Also demonstrated a costumed theatrical skit aimed at promoting environmental values, environmental conservation of urban ecosystems and protection of rare and endangered species of flora and fauna of East Kazakhstan.

I express my gratitude to the director of Educational-research ecobiocenter of education department of education on Ust-Kamenogorsk city of EKR, doctor of biological sciences, professor Anatoly Pavlovich Tsyganov for long-term cooperation, support, consultations and huge contribution to education of young ecologists and naturalists of the region, – noted the head of department of ecology and geography Nazgul Jensikbaeva.

The contest has become a significant event for formation of ecological outlook in modern youth, development of ecological culture of behavior and raising awareness of the need to protect nature.

It should be noted that the event was attended not only by the contestants, but also by fans from school teams, as well as students of 1-2 courses of EP “Ecology”.
