EAST KAZAKHSTAN UNIVERSITY SCIENTIST WINS “YOUNG SCIENTIST” GRANT FUNDING COMPETITION

Senior lecturer of the Department of Biology Kuralay Alipina has successfully passed all stages of the annual contest of grant funding for young scientists from the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Now she is the deserved owner of the grant which will be directed on realization of the project “Study of influence of anthropogenic factors and climate change on tree species growing in industrial regions of East Kazakhstan by method of dendroindication”.

The author’s scientific work scored 47.6 points, taking the leading position in the overall rating. The scientific adviser was Choimaa Dulamsuren – professor of Albert Ludwig University in Germany.

– My project is aimed at studying the impact of anthropogenic factors and climate change on woody plants in industrial cities of our region and meets the goals of sustainable development,” the scientist said.

According to Kuralay Alipina, the project is important at national and international levels.
