A MEETING OF THE ACADEMIC COMMITTEE WAS HELD AT THE DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES AND TRANSLATION STUDIES

At the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University the regular meeting of the Academic Committee, scheduled for February, was held. The event was attended by the director of Lyceum №44 Nazarbayeva J.K., director of secondary school №10 of Ridder Berdygozhaeva R.K., director of the educational center “Best” Aimukhambetova A.A., director of the language center “Wiedergeburt” Schumacher E.V., as well as teachers and students of the department.

The head of the department Kapysheva G.K. presented a brief overview of the educational programs and offered the members of the council to make their proposals for updating the curriculum. During the meeting the proposals of employers on updating the content of educational programs were considered, the model handbook of the educational program was discussed, as well as the working curricula of the directions 6B01703 “Foreign language: two foreign languages”, 6B02301 “Translation”, 6B01706 “English (IP)”, 6B01707 “Foreign languages (IP)” and 7M01703 “Foreign language: two foreign languages”.

In addition, they touched upon the current issues of training specialists, collection of necessary documents for employment of graduates, integration of students into the new educational and upbringing system of the university, the current state of educational work among students of 1-4 courses, introduction of updated methods of teaching foreign languages, as well as making changes to the curricula of educational programs 6B01703 “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages”, 6B02301 “Translation Business”, 6B01706 “English (IP)”, 6B01707 “Foreign Languages (IP)”, 6B01707 “Foreign Languages (I)” and 7M01703 “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages”.
