AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY STUDENT WINS SILVER AT THE WORLD CUP IN CANADA

The junior stage of the World Cup in short track speed skating is held in Quebec City. Zeynep Kumarkan, a 19-year-old student of the S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University’s Physical Education and Sports program, took part in it. She won the second place at the distance of 500 meters, losing only to Canadian Victoria Jean-Baptiste. Zeynep’s score was 44.637.

Earlier, the Kazakhstani athlete demonstrated excellent results at the Asian Games in Harbin, becoming a silver medalist.

– This achievement will encourage me to train more and improve my performance at other international competitions,” she said.

It should be noted that Zeynep Kumarkan is a second-year student. She trains in one of the ice modules of the regional center.
