A ROUND TABLE WAS HELD ON THE OCCASION OF THE JUBILEE OF CANDIDATE OF LEGAL SCIENCES
In S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University was held a round table on the theme “Actual issues of legal training in the conditions of ensuring law and order in society”. The event was timed to the anniversary of Gulmira Bayrkenova, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Jurisprudence, who made a significant contribution to the development of legal science in the country.
-Gulmira Toleubekovna has not only a huge work experience in our alma mater, but also is one of the outstanding and exemplary alumni. This is a person who has studied at East Kazakhstan University for five years and has demonstrated hard work and high professionalism for 32 years. We are proud that we have raised such a competent and respected specialist within the walls of our university, – said the rector of East Kazakhstan University Mukhtar Tolegen.
Candidate of Law Sciences was personally congratulated by partners of the university – representatives of law enforcement agencies, who were once students of Gulmira Bayrkenova. Among them were Arkhat Beisembayev, Head of the Prevention Directorate of the Department of the Agency for Anti-Corruption in East Kazakhstan Region, Vasily Alexandrov, Senior Assistant Prosecutor of East Kazakhstan Region, Nazym Kabdrakhmanova, Judge of the Regional Court, and Zhaksylyk Korpebaev, Head of the Operations and Forensics Directorate of the East Kazakhstan Region Police Department.
Within the framework of the roundtable the participants discussed practical aspects of formation of relevant competencies of students in the context of modern state policy to ensure law and order. According to experts, training of future lawyers is a strategically important factor. To improve the quality of legal education, the speakers suggested taking into account the experience of foreign countries. Thus, in Germany a long internship in state bodies is obligatory, and in the USA the case study methodology is widespread, which presupposes a detailed analysis of real court cases.
The Department of Jurisprudence at Amanzholov University was established in 1992. Over its 33-year history, the department has graduated more than 10,000 diploma holders. As noted by the roundtable participants, today East Kazakhstan University graduates are highly valued in the labor market due to their qualitative practical knowledge and skills.
