THE WINNER WAS AWARDED A FOUR-YEAR GRANT IN EP “PSYCHOLOGY”

The Department of Psychology and Correctional Pedagogy of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University together with the Career Center “Professional Upgrading” held a regional Olympiad on psychology among students of 11th grades of secondary schools of Ust-Kamenogorsk city and East Kazakhstan region from February 10 to 27.

At the first stage of the regional Olympiad participants wrote essays on the topic “How psychologist will save the world”, as well as descriptions of personal qualities of the heroes of the popular movie “My Name is Kozha”. According to the jury’s decision, 13 schoolchildren passed to the second stage.

The event was organized in order to increase the cognitive interest of schoolchildren in psychology and to stimulate their future aspiration to obtain knowledge in this field.

On February 27, at the second stage of the Olympiad, the participants performed situational tasks aimed at developing such important qualities as creative and critical thinking, argumentation skills and empathy. Pupils expressed their opinions on the given problem situations, demonstrating their ability to think quickly and find solutions.

By the jury’s decision, the grand prize of the second stage was won by a pupil of the Dinmuhamed Kun secondary school. Dinmukhamed Kunayev from Glubokovsky district Zhibek Rysbek, who received a four-year university grant for the educational program “Psychology”.

First place – Diana Kolmagorova, “Zevakinsky Complex ‘General Education Secondary School-Kindergarten’ Shemonaikha district.

Second place – Altynai Mameshova, “Kazakhstan secondary school” of the Department of Education in Zaisan district.

Second place Sabrina Ilhamova – “Profile school” of education department on Ust-Kamenogorsk city.

Third place Ayaulym Kakimova – “General Education School №47” of Education Department on Ust-Kamenogorsk city.

The third place Shyraya Aglanova – “Secondary school №46” of education department on Ust-Kamenogorsk city.

The third place Ramin Abdykarimova – “Average multiprofile school №37” of education department on Ust-Kamenogorsk city.

The participants who took the grand prix, as well as the first, second and third places were awarded with diplomas. Other participants and pedagogical-psychologists, who prepared students, were given certificates.
