FIRST VICE-RECTOR OF ASTANA IT UNIVERSITY SERIK OMIRBAYEV VISITED EAST KAZAKHSTAN UNIVERSITY

First Vice-Rector of Astana IT University, Doctor of Economics, Professor Serik Omirbayev arrived to S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University. He was the speaker of the training seminar for heads of structural units and teaching staff of the university on the topic “Strategy of learning, teaching and assessment”. The event was moderated by East Kazakhstan University Rector Mukhtar Tolegen, who emphasized the importance of improving the quality of education and introducing advanced teaching methods.

-As you know, the quality of education always remains a priority. Therefore, during the next three days the participants of the seminar will be familiarized with new approaches to learning, teaching and assessment, as well as with the principles of constructive transformation of educational processes. Serik Omirbaev’s practical experience in developing and implementing innovative educational strategies will undoubtedly help teachers to broaden their horizons,” said the first head.

The seminar program includes six lectures. The first lecture was devoted to the topic “Academic policy in the context of academic and managerial independence of universities”. The lecturer considered the development of corporate governance principles, trends in the expansion of academic and managerial independence of universities, as well as the development of academic policy.

Serik Omirbaev emphasized that for effective implementation of academic policy each teacher should participate in the organization of the educational process and be actively involved in its development.

– The quality of education first of all depends on teachers. Academic policy is a complex mechanism that ensures sustainable development of the education system. It is important that teachers realize their role in this process. They understand the fundamental values of the academic community and participate in the formation of educational strategies, – said Serik Omirbayev.

At the end of the seminar, the participants asked questions and took part in practical exercises dedicated to the development of academic policy of the university.
