EXCURSION TO SHYGYS-BASTAU TECHNOPARK

SHYGYS BASTAU” Technopark, which is aimed at supporting commercialized and startup projects for the active development of science in East Kazakhstan region, operates on the basis of the largest higher education institution of the region – Amanzholov University. The unique center of the region was presented to representatives of mass media during the republican press tour.

Currently, on the basis of the Technopark are being implemented projects such as, “Commercialization of technology for the production of composite filtering materials for the purification of water bodies”, “Competence Center for psychological and pedagogical training and methodological and technological support for children with special educational needs”, the total amount of funding for which is 438,400,000 tenge, as well as the project for grant funding “Monitoring and forecasting of the water regime of agrocenoses of Kazakhstan in the context of global climate change”.

Within the framework of these projects, scientists and developers of the university are engaged in research, analysis, forecasting and even production. Within the walls of technopark actively produce professional tables of psychologist-defectologist, verticalizers, desks and technical means of rehabilitation and development for children with locomotor disorders. At present, 5 patents for utility models and 12 copyright certificates for teaching aids, interactive simulators, albums, and programs have been obtained under the project “Center of Competence for Psychological and Pedagogical Training and Methodological and Technological Support for Children with Special Educational Needs”.
For example, a modern multifunctional complex, including a table with a sensor monoblock, a tilting table top, a pedestal with a built-in sandbox, backlighting and a speech mirror. The position and height are automatically adjusted to the child’s height. Equipped with author’s interactive simulators, consisting of more than 500 tasks. Foreign analogs cost more than 3 million tg, and the proposed complex with all accessories costs no more than 1.8 million tg.

The implementation of commercialized projects involves the purchase of equipment required by modern standards. East Kazakhstan University purchased equipment for the production of water filters L-BW 380 worth more than 125,000,000 tenge. It was purchased with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of the commercialization project “Production of composite filtering materials for water treatment”. According to the head of the project, senior researcher of the university Telek Kuanyshbekov, the new equipment will ensure the qualitative realization of the most important stage in the production of innovative filters.

Recall, presented in 2023 project “Production of composite filtering materials for the purification of water bodies” is aimed at solving the urgent world problem – poor quality of fresh water. East Kazakhstan University scientists are engaged in setting up the production of filtering composite sorbents based on biopolymers, ceramic, carbon materials modified with graphite oxide with assembly into cartridges, as well as the manufacture of enclosures on the basis of the university.

The final product will soon be adapted in large enterprises and residential buildings. This means that the population of the country is guaranteed effective removal of pollutants such as heavy metals, microorganisms and organic compounds.

In turn, in the Research Center “Surface Engineering and Tribology” of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University installed and launched a scanning electron microscope worth 90 million tenge.

This device allows to study surface structure, microrelief, morphological features and elemental composition, creating conditions for fundamental and applied research work in materials science, metallurgy, biomedicine and other areas. The equipment is already being used for scientific research.

In addition, the university scientists are working on the development of a system for forecasting emergency floods in the East Kazakhstan region based on the use of remote sensing data, GIS-technologies and machine learning.

The project aims to support water supply, flood protection and construction of hydraulic structures in East Kazakhstan, providing a scientific basis for water resources management in Kazakhstan.

The achievements of the researchers do not end there. They have developed resource-saving technologies for strengthening soil tillage machines. The project is designed for research and development of electrofriction technology for hardening of cutting blades of soil tillage tools. Electrofriction treatment forms a quality wear-resistant layer. This project is needed in the field of energy as well as agricultural, construction and mining engineering.

– Our global goal is leadership in scientific and technological development, active introduction of innovations, as well as effective cooperation with industry and state institutions. SHYGYS BASTAU Technopark is one of the key strategic platforms of East Kazakhstan University,” said East Kazakhstan University Rector Mukhtar Tolegen.

Today the scientific center “SHYGYS BASTAU” actively cooperates with partner universities and companies from India, Malaysia, Turkey and China. Within the framework of studying the best practices of partner universities, they prepare joint scientific collaborations, which gives scientists the opportunity to create consortia and apply for grant funding competitions of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

– We want to contribute to the economic and scientific growth of our region. The technopark includes laboratories of digital technologies and modeling, scientific and production laboratory of innovative technologies, – said deputy head of technopark “Shygys Bastau” Almasbek Maulit.

Earlier President of the country Kasym-Jomart Tokayev noted that science is a strategically important sphere. In recent years, funding for domestic science has increased by 3.5 times, support for young scientists has increased. In turn, the volume of financing of science of Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
and contractual projects increased in East Kazakhstan University from 110 million tg. (2017) to 4.2 billion tg. (2024).
