LECTURE “CONTRASTIVE LINGUISTICS IN THE CONTEXT OF INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION”

Teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University Gulnar Kapysheva, Svetlana Fedosova and Irina Larionova held a lecture on “Contrastive linguistics in the context of intercultural communication”. The class was organized for students of the Department of Linguistics, Foreign Languages and Translation Studies of the Institute of Humanities of Altai State University as part of the course “English and American Literature”.

The speakers voiced the role and importance of contrastive linguistics in the process of intercultural communication. Students had an opportunity to analyze literary texts in different cultural contexts, as well as to gain a deeper understanding of linguistic features and artistic techniques used by authors.

Such practice-oriented classes contribute to the formation of valuable professional knowledge and skills necessary for future translation specialists.
