INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND METHODOLOGICAL ROUNDTABLE WITH A MEMBER OF THE PARENTS’ PLATFORM RUSSIAN FEDERATION ON CHILDREN’S RIGHTS
S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University hosted an International scientific and methodological round table on the topic “Interaction with parents as a basis for psychological and pedagogical support of children with special educational needs”.
The event was organized by the Department of Psychology and Correctional Pedagogy together with the Center for Continuing and Inclusive Education “Dana bala” with the support of the Russian House in Ust-Kamenogorsk. It became a part of the annual forum “Time of Good Deeds”, realized within the framework of cooperation with Russian and Kazakh partners.
The key goal of the round table was to create a dialog platform for discussion of effective forms of interaction between parents, teachers, specialists and students studying pedagogical specialties. Special attention was paid to strengthening the role of the parent community as an equal partner in the process of inclusive education.
Vice-consul, representative of Rossotrudnichestvo in Ust-Kamenogorsk Alexander Dyachenko made a welcoming speech, noting the importance of the forum for the development of good-neighborly humanitarian initiatives.
– We decided to hold the forum in East Kazakhstan because good deeds are really done within the framework of the “Time of Good Deeds”. We invite specialists from Russia, who share their experience and adopt local practices, – said Adeksandr Dyachenko.
The guest of honor at the round table was Inna Orlova, Chairperson of the International Community of Mothers of Disabled Children “About Her”, a member of the “Parents’ Platform” under the Russian Presidential Ombudsman for Children’s Rights. In her speech she told about the activities of the community, which unites parents all over the country, as well as about social initiatives implemented in different regions, including Kazakhstan.
– Thanks to our project, mothers from different parts of Kazakhstan have undergone online training and mastered the profession of gingerbread makers. This allows them to combine creativity, time with their children and the possibility of additional income. In the near future it is planned to conduct online training for other professions, such as SMM, floristry and many others, – said Inna Orlova.
The participants discussed Russian and Kazakhstani experience in organizing psychological and pedagogical support for families raising children with special educational needs, and emphasized the need to combine the efforts of specialists and the parent community.
Kazakhstani specialists presented practical projects at the round table.
Veronika Tarasova, a teacher-defectologist of the KSU “Support Center for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder ‘Asyl Miras’, presented the project ‘Route Map for Parents of Children with Special Educational Needs’ aimed at systemic support of parents in the educational process.
Marina Davydova, methodologist of the Regional Psychological-Medical-Pedagogical Counseling Center, presented the project “Determination of Special Educational Needs of Children in the PMPC”, telling in detail about the procedure of assessment and diagnostics of children with special educational needs in the conditions of counseling.
At the end of the round table, pedagogical psychologists of the university conducted a training for parents “Special Children – Strong Parents”, aimed at psychological support for parents raising children with special educational needs.
Amanzholov University continues to actively participate in the development of inclusive education, providing platforms for open dialog and professional exchange, as well as supporting important international and interregional initiatives in the field of education and social support.
