INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO THE 180TH ANNIVERSARY OF ABAI KUNANBAEV

In theSarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University held an international scientific-practical conference “Academician Zaki Akhmetov and the problems of Abaeology”, dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great poet, writer, philosopher, translator and public figure Abai Kunanbayev.

Rector of the University Mukhtar Tolegen made a welcoming speech and emphasized the great contribution of Academician Zaki Akhmetov to the development of Abaeology.

– Today’s event is one of the significant steps in comprehension and popularization of Abay’s spiritual heritage, as well as a manifestation of respect for the scientific school of Zaki Akhmetov. Our university has implemented a number of initiatives to popularize the heritage of Abai Kunanbayev. For example, in 2018, the Abai Museum was opened in Poland,” the rector said.

It is worth noting that within the framework of the conference, scientific and methodological sections were organized, where the topics of history and theory of Abai studies, literature and language, modern educational technologies, national education and spiritual development were discussed.

The conference was attended by prominent scientists, young researchers, doctoral and master students of the leading research institutes and higher educational institutions of the country. In the course of the plenary session, the leading researcher of the Institute of Literature and Art named after M.O.Auezov, Doctor of Philological Sciences Nurdaulet Akysh, Professor of Karaganda University Zhandos Smagulov, Professor of ENU named after L.N.Gumilev Maktagul Orazbek, as well as Associate Professor of East Kazakhstan University Raushangul Mukysheva presented informative reports.

In addition, the exhibition of scientific works and books of the teaching staff of the university was presented at the conference site.
