SYMBIOSIS OF SCIENCE AND AGRO-INDUSTRY: AMANZHOLOV UNIVERISTY HOSTED AN AGRO-FORUM

A regional agro-forum was held on the basis of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, which presented a wide exposition of modern models of agricultural machinery, advanced agro-technologies, various types of grain crops, natural honey drinks, honey varieties, chemical preparations for processing and others.

Vice-Minister of Agriculture Amangaly Berdalin, Akim of EKR Nurymbet Saktaganov, Deputy Director of the Republican Chamber of Dairy and Combined Breeds of Cattle Berik Nigmashev, Chairman of the National Association of Oilseed Processors Yadykar Ibragimov and members of scientific organizations got acquainted with the variety of goods and services.

Scientists of East Kazakhstan University presented their author’s projects useful for agro-industrial complex. Senior researcher of the university Almasbek Maulit and his team are working on a portal, which is a digital analog of an agronomist with an impressive experience. The scientists’ development involves a website that will store up-to-date information on soil conditions, forecasts for sowing dates, crop yields and the amount of fertilizer needed. Agrochemical analysis is helped by a smart drone with a multispectral camera.

-Our main mission is to minimize risks and save valuable time of agronomists,” said Almasbek Maulit.

He, by the way, made a presentation on water conservation, which is key in agriculture.

-With the growing food load on agrocenoses, it is especially important to assess the water regime of agricultural lands. For this purpose, we offer innovative monitoring and forecasting of the water regime of agrocenoses – the installed soil moisture and temperature sensors will provide us with accurate forecasts. This will optimize sowing and allow us to plan operations that increase yields. In addition, we are implementing a scientific project aimed at flood forecasting using remote sensing data, GIS technologies and machine learning,” Almasbek Maulit announced during his speech.

Dastan Buitkenov, a leading researcher at East Kazakhstan University, said that the regional alma mater conducts innovative work on obtaining wear-resistant materials for engineering products. For this purpose, a full-fledged research center “Surface Engineering and Tribology” was established seven years ago. Today it is a platform of innovative technologies based on resource-saving methods of surface modification and application of protective coatings to improve the wear resistance of various products.

At the agro-forum we presented the working bodies of tillage machines, having previously increased their wear resistance by 14%. We offer this service to all interested parties who are engaged in production and want to take care of the condition of their equipment in advance,” said Dastan Buitkenov.

The contribution of East Kazakhstan University to the sustainable development of agro-industrial complex does not end here. For many years, scientists have been engaged in mycological analysis of seed material of agricultural plants, as well as health improvement and cultivation of potatoes In Vitro, which are currently 125 varieties.

Even the students of the university took an active part in the agro-forum. Alexey Gladyshev and Daria Sabitova, final year students of the educational program “Forest Resources, Hunting and Beekeeping” presented startup projects – environmentally friendly adsorbed bee product using drone larva homogenate, health capsules made of honey, pollen and propolis extract, as well as healing ointment based on trout larvae.

Nurymbet Saktaganov, Akim of East Kazakhstan region, highly appreciated the extensive work of representatives of East Kazakhstan University .

The head of the region also noted that the agro-industrial complex is the second most important branch of the economy in EKR.

-The industry is steadily developing, forming 5.6% of the agricultural output of the country. Our region takes the first place in the republic in the production of vegetable oil, honey, sausages and koumiss, – the akim emphasized.

According to him, achievements in crop production deserve special attention. According to the results of 2024 EKR took the first place in Kazakhstan in terms of barley yield (23.8 c/ha) and wheat yield (23 c/ha), the second place – in terms of rape yield (24 c/ha) and the third place – in terms of oilseed yield (19.1 c/ha).

At the end of the agro-forum Nurymbet Saktaganov proposed to hold similar events twice a year – in spring before the start of spring field work and on the Day of Agricultural Workers.
