PATH TO TV JOURNALISM: EAST KAZAKHSTAN UNIVERSITY STUDENT TOOK AN INTERNATIONAL COURSE

Medina Ukanova, a student of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, successfully completed the TV Journalism course at Euronews Academy. The course was held at Maksut Narikbayev University (MNU) in Astana.

The course consisted of four intensive modules. Students were taught by international professionals, including Bojan Brkic, Euronews bureau chief in Astana, and Sergio Cantone, Euronews deputy editor-in-chief.

The TV Journalism course at Euronews Academy is one of the most inspiring stages of my professional training. The practical part was particularly valuable: we shot news sequences, interviewed and tried our hand in real newsroom conditions,” Medina said.

The program ended with shooting an individual news story. According to the teachers, Medina not only confidently coped with the final task, but also throughout the course demonstrated a high level of preparation and involvement.

Medina coped well with all assignments, including the final one – filming her own story. She was active, asked professional questions and grasped the material quickly. She has a great future in television journalism,” said Bojan Brkic, one of the leading trainers of the course and a media expert with more than 30 years of experience.
