INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS HAVE LEARNED RUSSIAN AS PART OF THE FOUNDATION PROGRAM

At Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University foreign students successfully completed the academic year on the course “Russian as a foreign language”. The course was organized within the Foundation program, and the main participants of the course were students from the People’s Republic of China.

From October 2024 to May 2025, students Chen Yongrui from Harbin Institute of Technology, as well as Shi Bowen and Saidjamol Gafurov from Jilin University of Construction studied Russian at East Kazakhstan University, improving their language skills.

During the academic year, senior lecturers of the Department of Kazakh, Russian Philology and Journalism – R.M. Zhakupova, A.J. Toktubaeva, N.M. Akhmetbekova and A.A. Saganayeva – provided in-depth academic and language training for the students. The program focused on the development of reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Students were also trained in correct and effective speech behavior in various communicative situations, learned lexical and grammatical norms.

International students noted that the knowledge gained at East Kazakhstan University will help them improve their professional and academic potential in their home country. They remember with gratitude the friendly atmosphere at the university and the high quality of teaching.

At the end of the course, the students passed the final exam and received certificates confirming their Russian language proficiency.
