AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY PRESENTED ITS SCIENTIFIC POTENTIAL TO FOREIGN SCIENTISTS

The IV annual international conference of the Kazakhstan Physical Society (KPS) was held on the basis of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University. Within the framework of this event leading scientists from different parts of the world got acquainted with the research centers of the university.

The guests were introduced to the work of subdivisions of the National Scientific Laboratory of Collective Use, founded in 2009. These laboratories are equipped with modern equipment and work in the areas of chemical research, plant biology and biotechnology. Scientific projects of students, masters and doctoral students were also demonstrated.

The activities of the Center for Surface Engineering and Tribology, opened in 2018, attracted special attention of the scientific community. The center is engaged in research on hardening the surfaces of metals and materials, as well as increasing their wear resistance. The scientists were presented with the technologies of electrolyte-plasma treatment, detonation spraying, electrofriction hardening, gas-flame spraying and chemical-thermal treatment. All processes are carried out both in laboratories and in production shops.

– Everything was new and very interesting for me today. It is commendable that a regional university has its own production facility. Here science and production are closely connected, leading to real results. If at the conference many reports were theoretical, here the emphasis is on practice. I am engaged in theoretical modeling, and here researches are carried out experimentally and give concrete results, – shared the participant of conference Tilektes Shugaeva.

In addition, the scientists familiarized themselves with innovative devices designed for the development and rehabilitation of children with special educational needs. Among them are a verticalizer chair, a professional table for a psychologist-defectologist and other developments. They were created within the framework of the commercialization project “Competence Center for Psychological and Pedagogical Training and Methodological and Technological Support for Children with Special Educational Needs”. Not only professional specialists of the university, but also enterprising students participated in the project realization. All samples of products at the initial stage were tested on the basis of the center of Continuing and Inclusive Education “Dana bala” and the center of support for children with cerebral palsy “DEMEY”.

Foreign scientists highly appreciated the scientific centers of the university, noting that they are fully provided with technical base and have all the conditions to conduct research and implement projects that contribute to the development of the region’s economy.
