FOREIGN SCIENTISTS VISITED MAJOR INDUSTRIAL ENTERPRISES AS PART OF THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN EAST KAZAKHSTAN UNIVERSITY
On the basis of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University in the framework of the IV Annual International Conference of the Kazakhstan Physical Society (KPS) participants familiarized themselves with the major enterprises of the region.
The foreign delegation visited the museums of Ulba Metallurgical Plant and JSC “Kazzinc”, where they were presented the work of production complexes. In the exhibition center of Ulba Metallurgical Plant the guests were told about the history of the enterprise and modern technologies. The scientists were presented detailed information about the technologies of beryllium, tantalum and uranium development, products from these metals, as well as the process of uranium pellets manufacturing. The plant has three full-fledged production complexes.
In addition, the guests familiarized themselves with samples of beryllium products, a layout of tantalum production, as well as products of the Mint of Kazakhstan – medals and coins.
– Kazakhstan ranks first in the world in uranium mining. Today we got acquainted with the enterprise producing uranium and uranium tablets. It is good to see that we have a full cycle of production. All that remains is to build a nuclear power plant,” said Azamat Ashirbek, a researcher at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
During the visit, the scientists also visited Kazzinc. They toured the company’s museum, familiarized themselves with the work of its structural divisions and the overall production process. The enterprise “Kazzinc” is located in three regions: East Kazakhstan, Akmola and Ulytau.
The works of such large industrial and subsidiary enterprises as Ust-Kamenogorsk metallurgical complex, Ridder metallurgical complex, Bukhtarma hydropower complex, Ridder enrichment plant, Altai enrichment plant and Zhairemsky mining and processing plant were demonstrated.
It should be noted that between the University and more than 450 large enterprises and organizations of the East Kazakhstan region concluded agreements on personnel training. Strong partnership ties with more than 150 enterprises are also established. This cooperation gives students and graduates the opportunity to undergo practical training and directly get a job. In addition, the university develops educational programs in close cooperation with enterprises, providing graduates not only with theoretical knowledge, but also with practical skills that meet the modern requirements of the labor market.
