“FINANCIAL TRIGGERS OF THE 21ST CENTURY” FORUM

The forum “Financial Triggers of the XXI Century” was held on the basis of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, dedicated to the issues of countering finpyramids, Internet fraud, dropship and compliance with Internet hygiene. The event was organized by representatives of the Department of Economic Investigations of the East Kazakhstan region.

Akim of the city Almat Akyshov, deputies of Maslikhat, representatives of state and law enforcement agencies, representative of the Ombudsman for Human Rights, mentor of the project “Karyzsyz kogam”, employees of budgetary organizations, labor collectives, youth movements took part in the Forum.

The main purpose of the event is to increase the level of financial and legal literacy of the population and the formation of understanding of modern trends of financial security.

“Law enforcement agencies and specialized organizations make every effort to inform the population about the risks and threats. It is for this purpose that today’s forum was organized, where employees of the DEI and East Kazakhstan Region Police Department, as well as experts in the field of finance united to give practical recommendations on financial security”, – noted the leadership of the DEI on East Kazakhstan Region Police Department.

During the meeting, speakers spoke about common schemes of economic offenses, such as pyramid schemes, use of front men, phishing attacks and other forms of financial fraud. Also, a student of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University prepared a special report. She conducted an experiment among the population to find out the level of citizens’ awareness of fraud schemes.
