UNIVERSITY OF GÖTTINGEN AND ALMA MATER SIGNED A MEMORANDUM

Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University and University of Göttingen (Germany) signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing scientific cooperation.

University of Göttingen , founded in 1737, is one of the oldest and most respected universities in Germany. It is known as a symbol of academic freedom and is among the leading scientific centers of the world.

In the QS World University Rankings 2025, the university holds the No. 252 position globally. According to THE 2025, the University of Göttingen ranks No. 121 in the world out of approximately 2,857 universities.

According to the signed document, the parties agreed to develop joint scientific projects for the study and preservation of cultural heritage, digitalization of linguistic materials, creation of language corpora and electronic databases. Academic visits, exchange of researchers and doctoral students, joint events and publication of scientific works are also envisaged.

The executing party on the German side is the State and University Library of Göttingen (SUB), which has a unique infrastructure to support projects related to Central Asia.

This partnership with one of Europe’s leading universities opens new horizons for East Kazakhstan University in international research and academic mobility.
