FORESIGHT SESSIONS AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY CONTINUE: ENERGY AND TOURISM ON THE MAP OF FUTURE PROFESSIONS

At Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, foresight sessions on training specialists for the East Kazakhstan region continue within the framework of the “Mamandygym–Bolashagym” project. The third day of the sessions is devoted to two strategically important areas — energy and tourism — which play a key role in the socio-economic development of the region.

Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, who joined the event via ZOOM, emphasized the strategic importance of the “Mamandygym–Bolashagym” project, noting that it has become part of a systemic effort to build a modern model of interaction between education, business, and government.

Rector of East Kazakhstan University Mukhtar Tolegen noted that the forum strengthens the link between education and industry, helps identify new professions and competencies that meet modern requirements, and provides a platform for cooperation among universities, research institutes, businesses, and government bodies to jointly develop the region’s human resources potential.

Director of the East Kazakhstan Center for Labor Mobility, Araylym Yesimbekova, reported that according to labor market data, there are currently more than 4,300 open vacancies in various sectors across the region. The website enbek.kz features the “Career Compass” service, where residents can explore the most in-demand professions and find suitable educational programs.

As noted by the Chairman of the East Kazakhstan Tourism Council, Symbat Ramazanov, the region is currently experiencing a shortage of tour guides proficient in foreign languages, particularly English and Chinese, which is especially relevant given the growing number of tourists from neighboring countries.

The foresight session concluded with the presentation of certificates to the experts who took part in the discussions. The outcomes of the meeting will serve as a foundation for further work on developing an up-to-date list of professions and educational pathways that will contribute to the sustainable development of the region.
