A GRANT AND SCHOLARSHIP NAMED AFTER THE GREAT EDUCATOR KUMASH NURGALIYEV, WHO DEVOTED HIS LIFE TO SERVING PEOPLE AND EDUCATION, HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY.

On the eve of the 100th anniversary of Kumash Nurgaliyev — People’s Teacher, veteran of the Great Patriotic War, and a legendary figure who devoted his life to enlightenment and the education of generations — an important initiative was implemented at Amanzholov University. This is a significant step uniting memory, tradition, and the future of Kazakhstan’s education.

The name of Kumash Nurgaliyev is a symbol of honest work, humanity, and an unwavering belief in the power of knowledge. He began his professional path as a simple teacher in the village of Boran in the Markakol district, where he educated thousands of students — among them scientists, doctors, teachers, and public figures. He is a true Teacher, whose name is forever inscribed in golden letters in the history of Kazakhstani education.

At the initiative of the Rector, Mukhtar Tolegen, the following were established (approved by the University’s Academic Council):
the Kumash Nurgaliyev Grant and the Kumash Nurgaliyev Scholarship.

The Grant provides talented graduates of rural schools — especially graduates of the school named after Kumash Nurgaliyev in the village of Boran — with the opportunity to study free of charge at Amanzholov University. This is not merely financial support; it is a continuation of the ideas of the Great Teacher, a symbol of belief in the power of education, and a commitment to the principle of equal opportunities for every young person.
The Scholarship will be awarded to students of pedagogical specialties who demonstrate excellent academic performance and active civic engagement.

In addition, the Kumash Nurgaliyev Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Pedagogy has been opened in honor of the distinguished educator. This innovative center brings together the best ideas of the past and the technologies of the future. Here, a new generation of teachers will be trained — specialists capable of combining human values with innovation, tradition with modernity.

For the team of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, this is a sign of deep respect and gratitude for the Great Teacher — a man who devoted his life to serving his homeland, youth, and enlightenment. His name will forever remain in the hearts of young generations, in the dreams and aspirations of those who have chosen the path of education.
