THE MOMENT WHEN THEORY MEETS PRACTICE: AN OPEN LESSON BY A STUDENT OF AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

Teaching practice is one of the key stages at which a future teacher’s theoretical knowledge is combined with real classroom experience. In this regard, a fourth-year student of the “Chemistry-Biology” educational program at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, Shugyla Amanzholkyzy, is completing her teaching practice at Secondary School No. 46 in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk.

During her practice, the student conducted an open lesson for ninth-grade students on the topic:
“Laboratory Work No. 13. General Properties of Nitric Acid in Comparison with Other Acids.”

The objective of the lesson was to explain the chemical properties of nitric acid through experimentation, identify its similarities with other acids, and connect theoretical knowledge with practical application.

During the open lesson, laboratory experiments were carried out, reaction equations were analyzed, chemical safety rules were strictly observed, and students’ critical thinking and analytical skills were developed.

The lesson aroused strong interest among the students and contributed to deepening their knowledge of chemistry. The trainee demonstrated herself as a responsible, proactive, and creatively thinking future specialist.
