MASTER CLASS AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

At the Higher School of Humanities of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, a master class entitled “Audiovisual Translation” was held within the framework of the educational program “Translation Studies.”

The main purpose of the event was to introduce students to the theoretical foundations and practical features of one of the most dynamically developing areas of modern translation — audiovisual translation — as well as to enhance their professional competencies. First-year students of the “Translation Studies” program took part in the master class.

During the event, participants received comprehensive information about the main types of audiovisual translation, including subtitling, dubbing, voice-over translation, and synchronization. In addition, students developed practical skills in working with audio materials and discussed issues related to maintaining semantic accuracy, stylistic consistency, and cultural adaptation when translating original texts.

The master class contributed to increasing students’ professional interest and strengthening their practical training as future translators. Following the event, a photo report was prepared and published on the university’s social media platforms.
