THE ACADEMIC COUNCIL DISCUSSED THE UNIVERSITY’S STRATEGIC GOALS AND RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

The regular meeting of the Academic Council of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University began with a discussion of the draft of the new Constitution and the upcoming referendum. Council members paid special attention to the timeline of the referendum, the procedure for participation, and the importance of informing the university community. It was emphasized that active participation of students and faculty in the voting process reflects civic responsibility and an informed position.

During the meeting, the Rector presented the university’s objectives for 2026, aligning them with national priorities in the field of science and higher education. The outcomes of the extended meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan were also highlighted, with the participation of Minister Sayasat Nurbek and Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva. The Board outlined key directions for the development of higher education and science, including digitalization, the introduction of modern technologies, the advancement of research infrastructure, and enhancing the competitiveness of domestic universities.

The meeting then focused on analyzing and monitoring the activities of the Higher School of Humanities. Council members reviewed the achievements of students and faculty, indicators of research activity, and the quality of academic programs. Priority areas for 2026 were identified, along with specific measures to strengthen scientific potential and improve the educational process.

Following the meeting, reports from профильная commission were presented, and recommendations were developed to ensure the quality of education across all higher schools of the university. Special attention was given to engaging students in research activities, encouraging their participation in projects, conferences, and academic competitions, supporting young scientists, and developing research skills. Issues related to career guidance and expanding professional opportunities for students and staff were also addressed.

All discussions were aimed at the strategic development of the university, enhancing academic quality, and strengthening its scientific and professional potential.
