AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY LISTENED TO A LIVE MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF KAZAKHSTAN
At the S. Amanzholov University, the leadership of the university, public figures, professors, teachers and experts heard the Address of the Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev “Fair Kazakhstan: law and order, economic growth, social optimism.
In his regular Address the leader of the country dwelt on topical issues concerning the development of economy, social support and political stability in the country. Justice should become the core of the new economic orientation. Ensuring sustainable socio-economic progress, full disclosure of the creative potential of citizens, real increase in the welfare of the people – these are the main tasks of the state.
The President touched upon such topics as: the need to eliminate the imbalance between monetary and fiscal policies, strengthening the country’s industrial potential, solving priority infrastructure problems in the country, applying comprehensive measures to improve the nation’s health and resetting the system of social support for citizens.
The head of state also declared 2025 the Year of Working Professions. In what our university certainly plays a great role, where we promote the ideas of hard work and professionalism in our society. I fully agree with our leader that people who have achieved success through honest, hard work should always be respected and honored. This is fully consistent with our principle “Responsible Citizen – Honest Labor – Deserved Success”.
The Head of State emphasized the need to provide the economy with qualified personnel and overcome the shortage of specialists in key sectors, such as water resources, construction, energy, and training of specialists in the professions of the future. The work in this direction has already started.
Amanzholov University is actively working on internationalization of its educational process and development of modern educational programs that meet the requirements of the real sector of economy. The University already cooperates with enterprises and organizations of the region, providing them with qualified personnel, who not only have the necessary knowledge and skills, but are also ready to implement innovations. The University has concluded more than 450 agreements with large enterprises and organizations of East Kazakhstan on personnel training. More than 150 partner enterprises are involved in cooperation. Educational programs are actively adapted by the order of employers in close cooperation with the Education Department of East Kazakhstan region, “Kazzinc” LLP, “KazMinerals”, National Nuclear Center of RK, “UMZ” JSC, VNIItsvetmet, “TMK” JSC.
Amanzholov University also takes an active part in international scientific and educational exchanges, which contributes to the professional development of teachers and students, sending students to the best universities in the United States, Europe, Southeast Asia and has cooperation agreements with more than 120 universities from around the world.
Large-scale digitalization is also a priority in the new Address. Kazakhstan should become a country where artificial intelligence is widely used and digital technologies are developed,” Mr. Tokayev said.
It should be noted that STEM-center, laboratory room Robolab, chair of computer modeling and information technologies with a rich material and technical fund are opened on the basis of Amanzholov University. Innovative educational programs “STEM” and “Computer Mechatronics” have been implemented. The students of the university actively study disciplines in the areas of “Robotics” and “Artificial Intelligence”, as well as annually participate in the forum for developers “Hackathon”. Also, the disciplines “Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence”, “Expert Systems and Artificial Intelligence, Neuropsychology and Artificial Intelligence” are included in the educational process.
In the current realities we should be ready for any challenges, so we have to learn how to create water reserves, collecting flood water for the needs of agrarians and organize work on all possible water saving. First of all, it concerns agriculture, where water-saving technologies should be applied more widely.
Today our scientists are developing several scientific projects in this field. For example, students of Amanzholov University have invented a gauging station to prevent floods. In real time, it monitors the rise and fall of the water level, determines the temperature, transparency and speed. A new educational program “Hydroecology, Management and Transboundary Water Security” was opened.
Land is a key element of the industry’s investment attractiveness. Realizing this, our scientists are now developing a biogel against soil depletion.
Today, more than 75% of soils used in agriculture are subject to degradation. The remaining 25% are at risk. All this leads to lower crop yields and large financial losses. Not only farmers, but also Kazakhstani scientists are thinking about improving soil fertility. For example, Kydirmolla Akatan, a researcher at Amanzholov University, is developing a cellulose-based multicomposite biohydrogel to increase soil moisture and fertility for sustainable agro-industrial development. The project won the competition of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for grant funding for scientific and scientific-technical projects for 2024-2026.
Improvement of ecological situation, increase of efficiency of state governance, ideology of law and order, fight against drugs. I would like to dwell on the last topic, monthly with students we hold meetings and conversations about the harm of smoking, drug use and the harm of addiction. We are for a healthy future generation.
In a word, we are building a just Kazakhstan, and, what is especially important, all this is in full compliance with the aspirations of the people. Therefore, we all need to steadfastly follow our strategic course and do not turn off the planned path.
