A MEETING WITH MAZHILIS DEPUTY AND UNIVERSITY ALUMNUS OLZHAS NURALDINOV WAS HELD AT AMANZHOLY UNIVERSITY
Today, Amanzholov University hosted a meeting of students and faculty with a Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the 8th convocation, a 2011 graduate of the university in the field of Law, Olzhas Yeltaiuly Nuraldinov.
The event was attended by representatives of the East Kazakhstan Regional Branch of the Democratic Party “Ak Zhol,” including the branch chairman Kanapiya Bokhaev and deputy chairperson Meruert Smagulova, as well as university faculty members, students, and staff.
During the meeting, Olzhas Nuraldinov shared his memories of his student years and emphasized the significant role of Amanzholov University in his professional and personal development. He noted that in recent years the university has undergone substantial positive changes: its infrastructure has been modernized, new centers focused on the development of digitalization and artificial intelligence have been established, and a modern and comfortable educational environment has been created. The Deputy expressed his pleasant surprise at the renovated classrooms, modern halls, and the high level of technological development of the university.
In his speech, Olzhas Nuraldinov paid special attention to the consistent development of artificial intelligence at Amanzholov University. He highlighted the importance of the opening of the International Artificial Intelligence Center AI Amanzholov, established in partnership with Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI, Malaysia). According to him, this center strengthens the university’s technological base and expands opportunities for students, both in terms of academic mobility and study in Malaysia, as well as in the implementation of joint research projects.
The meeting was held in the format of an open dialogue. Students actively asked questions related to current socio-political processes, public activities, professional challenges, and personal experience, to which they received detailed and meaningful answers.
Among the topics discussed were key points from a recent interview with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Kemelovich Tokayev, devoted to a new stage of modernization and political transformation of the country. Participants addressed issues related to the role of youth during a period of change, the value of labor and personal responsibility, the understanding of Kazakhstan as a social state, and the importance of ensuring that state opportunities function as effective “social elevators” rather than fostering dependency.
The organization of this meeting clearly demonstrated the continuity of generations and the strong connection between alumni and students. Amanzholov University has rightfully established itself as a university with a high quality of education and a forge of opinion leaders and modern managers. Today, the region is represented at the parliamentary level by university alumni — Mazhilis Deputy Olzhas Nuraldinov, Yerlan Sairov, as well as Senate Deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olga Bulavkina and Shakarym Buktugutov.
Their professional paths and public service are a source of pride for Amanzholov University, and the connection between alumni and their alma mater remains an important and integral part of the university tradition.
