A MEETING WITH THE AKIM OF THE CITY OF UST-KAMENOGORSK WAS HELD AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

At Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, a meeting was held between students and faculty members and the Akim of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, Almat Akyshov. The event took place in the format of an open dialogue with the participation of the university rector, representatives of the institution, and active youth.

During the meeting, the Akim presented a report on the work carried out in 2025 and outlined the key directions for the city’s development in 2026. The main focus was on socio-economic development, support for entrepreneurship, urban improvement, and the creation of a comfortable urban environment.

It was noted that Ust-Kamenogorsk is actively developing: projects are being implemented to update city infrastructure, modernize public spaces, and construct and renovate social facilities. The city is gradually becoming more convenient and modern, with particular emphasis on improving conditions for youth and young professionals.

Measures to support small and medium-sized businesses were also discussed, along with cooperation between the authorities and the business community, and the implementation of initiatives aimed at improving citizens’ quality of life. The Akim emphasized that the city’s development is impossible without the active participation of residents, especially young people.

University students asked questions concerning employment prospects, city infrastructure, and youth participation in social projects. The meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere and became an important platform for dialogue between the authorities and the younger generation.

Such events contribute to strengthening cooperation between the university and city structures and help students develop an active civic position and a better understanding of the processes shaping the development of their home city.
