A ROUND TABLE ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF DE&I PRINCIPLES IN CORPORATE CULTURE WAS HELD AT SARSEN AMANZHOLOV EAST KAZAKHSTAN UNIVERSITY

A round table on the topic “How to integrate the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) into a company’s culture considering the realities of Kazakhstan” was held at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University. The event took place as part of the research project AP23489784 “Socio-psychological support for the formation of DE&I culture in Kazakhstani organizations.”

The round table was attended by heads of HR departments, business psychologists, representatives of the academic community, master’s students and university students who came together to discuss current trends and challenges in implementing DE&I principles in the corporate and educational practice of Kazakhstan.

The main goal of the meeting was to create an expert platform for sharing experience and adapting DE&I models to the cultural and social characteristics of the Kazakhstani context.

During the plenary session, Professor Natalia Ladzina presented a consultative model of psychological support for the implementation of DE&I culture, based on diagnosing corporate readiness, facilitation, coaching, and the development of employees’ emotional intelligence.

Elena Barabanova emphasized that DE&I principles are becoming a key factor in the sustainable development of companies, yet in domestic practice there is still a gap between formal equality and a genuine culture of acceptance. She noted the need for a systematic approach and educational programs that build corporate inclusiveness.

Larisa Nazyrova focused on the interaction of generations X, Y, Z and Alpha in modern business, highlighting the importance of strategies that combine tradition and innovation in corporate culture.

The concluding panel discussion addressed the adaptation of international DE&I practices to Kazakhstani conditions, the role of HR departments in shaping a culture of respect, and methods for evaluating the effectiveness of inclusive programs.

During the practical mini-session, participants identified three key steps for implementing DE&I principles in the corporate environment. The first is training for managers and employees. The second is the development of internal policies and feedback channels. The third is conducting an audit of corporate culture.

The event concluded with a shared recognition of the importance of moving from declarative equality to a genuine culture of acceptance based on respect, dialogue, and trust — the core elements of the sustainable development of modern Kazakhstani business.
