The Bolashak program

“Bolashak” is an international state program of the Republic of Kazakhstan for academic staff, providing the opportunity to undertake scientific and professional internships at leading foreign universities and research institutions. The program was established in 1993 and is aimed at training highly qualified specialists for the development of the country.

Program Goal

The main goal of the program is to prepare internationally qualified professionals and introduce advanced knowledge and technologies in Kazakhstan.

Program Direction

The program is intended for academic staff and provides the opportunity to undertake scientific and professional internships at leading universities and research centers around the world.

Requirements for Candidates

Candidates wishing to participate in the program must meet the following requirements:

  • citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • possession of a higher education diploma;
  • high academic performance;
  • knowledge of English confirmed by an international certificate: IELTS – not lower than 6.0–6.5 or TOEFL iBT – not lower than 60–80 points;
  • successful completion of the program’s competitive selection process.
