AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY – NATIONAL-LEVEL PLATFORM
At Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, the XVII Republican Subject Olympiad was held for the educational program 6B013 – “Training of Teachers without Subject Specialization.” The theme of the Olympiad was “Digital Teacher: Intelligence, Technology, Education.”
The event brought together 2nd- and 3rd-year full-time students from higher education institutions across the Republic of Kazakhstan. A total of 19 teams participated, representing various regions of the country, including leading universities of Kazakhstan.
The main goal of the Olympiad was to identify the professional potential of future teachers, develop their pedagogical, digital, and communication competencies, and demonstrate readiness to use modern educational technologies and artificial intelligence tools in their teaching practice.
Special attention was given to the development of innovative, critical, and creative thinking in the context of digital transformation in education.
The Olympiad consisted of five stages:
Stage 1 – “Digital Pedagogical Pitch: My Path to the Teaching Profession in the Digital Era.” Participants presented their vision of the modern teaching profession, demonstrating skills in self-presentation, communication, and teamwork.
Stage 2 – “Pedagogical Mastery Check.” This stage assessed the students’ theoretical knowledge in primary education pedagogy, teaching methodology, and educational work, as well as their ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
Stage 3 – “Pedagogical Case Bank.” Participants analyzed real pedagogical situations, identified problems, selected effective methods of educational influence, and proposed reasoned solutions.
Stage 4 – “EdTech Teacher Lesson” (home assignment). Teams demonstrated skills in designing modern lessons using digital educational resources and artificial intelligence tools.
Stage 5 – “Laboratory of Pedagogical Solutions.” The final stage focused on revealing participants’ creative potential: teams developed original educational ideas and presented them in a collaborative format.
A competent jury evaluated the performances, including representatives from the branch of JSC “National Center for Professional Development ‘Orleu’” in East Kazakhstan, school directors from Ust-Kamenogorsk, and experienced primary school teachers.
Evaluation criteria included:
- Level of professional thinking
- Justification of pedagogical ideas
- Speech culture
- Creativity
- Ability to analyze and solve pedagogical situations
- Development of creative and critical thinking
The Olympiad provided an important platform for exchanging professional experience, developing teaching skills, and demonstrating modern educational practices.
The event confirmed the high level of preparation of future teachers and their readiness for professional activity in the context of educational digitalization.

The XVII Republican Subject Olympiad at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University confirmed the university’s high status as one of the leading centers for teacher training in Kazakhstan. The university demonstrated a high level of organization, scientific and methodological support, and the creation of conditions for revealing the potential of future teachers.
The event reflected the university’s strategic focus on developing digital education, implementing innovative technologies, and preparing professionally competent specialists ready to meet the challenges of the modern educational environment.
