First-year student of the “Physical Culture and Sports” program at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, Viktor Volkov, took part in the Fifth Asian Paralympic Games, which were held from December 7 to 14 in Dubai, UAE.
According to the athlete, participating in a competition of this level was a vivid and unforgettable experience. Before the start of the games, Viktor’s coach, Oksana Makarova, set the goal of finishing among the top five, which became a strong motivation and reference point throughout the competition.
“The emotions were unforgettable. Such a goal set by the coach gave me confidence and helped me give my maximum effort,” Viktor Volkov shared.
As a result of the Asian Paralympic Games, the student achieved a significant sporting accomplishment, meeting the standard for the title of Master of Sports. At the same time, the athlete notes that he does not stop at this achievement and understands that there is still much work and many new goals ahead.
Viktor especially emphasized the support he receives within Amanzholov University. He noted that even at the admission stage, he felt a friendly atmosphere and became part of a large student family.
“Training and camps take a lot of time, but the professors and my classmates are always there to help and support me,” the athlete said.
The participation of Amanzholov University students in high-level international competitions is a vivid confirmation that the university creates favorable conditions for the comprehensive development of its students and their professional growth.
