AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY SUPPORTS THE REFORM TO OPTIMIZE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Today, the country’s higher education system is undergoing a phase of renewal in line with labor market demands. In this context, the initiative of Aida Balaeva, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to optimize educational programs is a timely step aimed at improving the quality of higher education.

Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University fully supports this reform. The university’s main goal is not simply to issue diplomas, but to train востребованные and competitive specialists who meet the needs of the labor market.

Based on a comprehensive analysis of workforce demands in the East Kazakhstan region, the university is implementing a strategy of transitioning “from quantity to quality.” As part of this effort, 13 educational programs that have lost relevance in the labor market have been completely discontinued. In addition, admission to 25 educational programs has been suspended, while current students will continue their studies until completion.

At the same time, new educational programs that meet modern requirements have been introduced. These include: “Business Analytics and Digital Marketing,” “Robotics and Artificial Intelligence,” “Nuclear Physics,” “Hydroecology,” and “Forest Resources.”

It is also proposed to revise the content of general education disciplines, some of which may be shifted to the school curriculum level. This will allow for more efficient use of academic time at the university and enable a greater focus on developing professional skills within a chosen field. The freed academic time is planned to be used for Minor programs.

Education is valuable only when it is results-oriented and aligned with the demands of the time. Amanzholov University places emphasis not only on teaching, but also on creating conditions for graduates to confidently begin their professional careers.
