AN OFF-SITE COURT HEARING OF THE EAST KAZAKHSTAN PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE TOOK PLACE AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

Today, an off-site open court hearing was held at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, organized by the Prosecutor’s Office of the East Kazakhstan Region in cooperation with the regional court. The event was conducted within the framework of implementing the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated September 2, 2024, titled “A Just Kazakhstan: law and order, economic growth, and public optimism.”

Off-site court hearings held at educational institutions in the region are aimed at increasing the legal awareness of young people, demonstrating the work of the judicial system, and preventing offenses among students, including those related to illegal drug trafficking.

During the event, students and faculty members witnessed the consideration of a criminal case involving the sale of narcotic substances. The court proceedings were conducted in the state language.

Participants had the opportunity to observe how a real court trial takes place and to become familiar with the work of the court, the prosecutor’s office, defense attorneys, and other participants in the process.

A representative of the prosecutor’s office noted that such preventive events help to form legal awareness and respect for the law among young people, demonstrate mechanisms for ensuring law and order, strengthen understanding of the consequences of unlawful actions, and contribute to the professional orientation of future legal specialists.

The off-site hearing became an important practice-oriented form of education for students, providing them with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the real work of the justice system.
