AN OPEN LECTURE ON ZOOLOGY WAS HELD AT THE DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGY OF AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

As part of the scientific and methodological week of the Higher School of IT and Natural Sciences at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, an open lecture on the discipline “Invertebrate Zoology” was held at the Department of Biology.

Senior lecturer of the Department of Biology, Bagdat Kazretovna Karmenova, conducted the session for students of the 6B01512 “Biology – Natural Sciences” program on the topic “Phylum Platyhelminthes – Flatworms.” The lecture was distinguished by its deep scientific content, logical structure, and high methodological level.

During the session, the morphophysiological features of flatworms, their evolutionary characteristics, and a comparative analysis of the classes Turbellaria, Trematoda, and Cestoda were systematically examined. Special attention was paid to the life cycles of parasitic forms and their pathogenic effects on the host organism. The material was presented using structural-logical modeling, which allowed theoretical concepts to be connected with specific biological processes and ensured a comprehensive understanding of the topic.

One of the key features of the lecture was the effective use of lecture-visualization technology. Complex anatomical structures and stages of parasite development were demonstrated using interactive 3D models, providing an in-depth visual analysis of the studied objects. This format promoted the development of students’ spatial thinking and fostered a scientifically grounded understanding of the structure and functioning of biological systems.

Additionally, the digital educational platform Wordwall was used to activate students’ cognitive activity. Interactive quizzes and exercises were organized to reinforce the studied material. The use of digital tools allowed for immediate assessment of students’ understanding and increased their engagement in the learning process.

The high scientific and methodological level of the session, professional mastery of modern educational technologies, and Bagdat Karmenova’s deep subject knowledge ensured that the open lecture was conducted at a high academic level. The session received positive feedback from students and became an important platform for developing the professional competencies of future biology teachers.
