ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN ACTION: INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

Today, at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, a large-scale scientific and practical conference titled “Shaping the Digital Era: Artificial Intelligence in Action” was held, dedicated to Sania Nurlanbekovna Kubentaeva — an educator, scholar, candidate of pedagogical sciences, and associate professor who has made a significant contribution to the development of pedagogical education.

The conference served as a platform for exchanging experiences between IT specialists and researchers working in the field of artificial intelligence. The participation of representatives from the partner university — Altai State University — as well as AI practitioners, added special significance to the event.

With a welcoming speech, the Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and International Cooperation, Irina Rovnyakova, addressed the participants, emphasizing that the topic of artificial intelligence is not only relevant but highly urgent, as it is discussed at all levels of education — from school to doctoral programs. According to her, the development of the digital era must also be considered through the lens of pedagogical activity.

The First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Altai State University (Barnaul), IT specialist Evgenia Zhdanova, highlighted the importance of synergy between the scientific knowledge of Russia and Kazakhstan. She emphasized that both countries have considerable potential in the field of artificial intelligence, and the development of joint research will allow for the creation of in-demand scientific products.

Presentations were given by researchers and specialists in artificial intelligence, including Meruert Serik, Professor of the Department of Informatics at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian University, Dr. of Sciences; Elena Ponykina, Head of the Department of Theoretical Cybernetics and Applied Mathematics at Altai State University; Bakytgul Kalenova, Deputy Head of the Digitalization Department at S. Asfendiyarov KazNMU; as well as lecturers, graduate students, doctoral students, and undergraduates.

During the conference, participants congratulated Sania Nurlanbekovna Kubentaeva, who has worked diligently at the university for over 30 years. Her contributions to the development of the department, support for young professionals, and improvement of educational programs are invaluable. Colleagues expressed deep appreciation for her professionalism, kindness, and readiness to support everyone. Participants wished her continued creative success, good health, and well-being, noting that her many years of work serve as an inspiring example for the entire staff and future generations of IT specialists.

Conference guests also visited the AI Center, the Center for Continuous and Inclusive Education “Dana Bala,” the Chemistry Department laboratories, the Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, and Computer Modeling Laboratory, the Scientific and Production Laboratory for the Development of Innovative Water Purification and Renewable Environmental Energy Technologies, as well as the Research and Innovation Center “Surface Engineering and Tribology.”

The holding of this conference once again confirmed that Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University is actively developing areas related to digital technologies and artificial intelligence. The university consistently strengthens its research base, expands international cooperation, and creates conditions for training in-demand IT specialists capable of contributing to the formation of the digital era.
