AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY, A MEETING “HONORING VETERANS” TOOK PLACE

As part of the Digital Nauryz 2026 decade, dedicated to the Nauryz holiday, the university held a meeting titled “Honoring Veterans.” This year, in a new celebration format, March 17 was declared “Shanyrak Day” — a day devoted to family values, the upbringing of the younger generation, and the preservation of family unity.

A special part of the event was a photo exhibition organized in honor of the university’s veterans. The rare photographs on display allowed guests to take a unique journey into the history of the institution, see the early years of respected faculty members, and learn more about their professional paths. This exhibition became not only a reflection of the past but also an important source of inspiration for the current generation.

The meeting was opened by Board Member and Vice-Rector for Educational and Social Work, Zhanneta Kalimoldina:

“Shanyrak Day is not just a family holiday; it is a day of respect for the older generation, which serves as the foundation of our large common home — the university. Your experience and every moment captured in these photographs are an invaluable heritage for us,” she noted.

University veteran faculty members participated in the meeting:

  • Lensta Rakhymzhanovna Aubakirova — veteran, honored educator, Distinguished Teacher of the Kazakh SSR, and honorary citizen of East Kazakhstan Region.

  • Farzana Rafikovna Akhmetzhanova — Doctor of Philological Sciences, university professor.

  • Kulzipash Bekpauovna Akhmetzhanova — Doctor of Philological Sciences, professor.

  • Gulmira Zainilovna Zainelova — Professor of the Department of Initial Military Training and Life Safety.

  • Gulsim Safuanovna Bektasova — Professor of the Department of Physics and Technology, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences.

  • Sara Kabdyrakhmanovna Beysembayeva — Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology.

For the Kazakh people, the concept of “shanyrak” symbolizes family unity and generational continuity. During the meeting, the veterans shared memories related to the photographs on display and offered their blessings to young specialists and students.

The “Honoring Veterans” event revealed the deep meaning of this national holiday and further strengthened the unity of the university community.
