The Italian professors came to Ust-Kamenogorsk by official invitation from Amanzholov University. They conduct Italian language classes for students and also give lectures to master’s and doctoral students in the humanities, intercultural communication, and European academic experience.
The visit program also includes master classes in psychology and tourism. The scholars present modern scientific approaches in these areas and consult the university’s faculty on preparing and publishing articles in international peer-reviewed journals, which in turn promotes the scientific activity of the teaching staff.
The opening of the Italian language courses continues previously established cooperation: Amanzholov University has previously signed memoranda with the University of Genoa and the University of Cassino and South Lazio. These agreements provide for academic mobility, joint educational projects, and the promotion of the Italian language and culture.
It is worth noting that the Salvatore Quasimodo Center for Italian Language and Culture successfully operates at Amanzholov University. The center was created on the initiative of the chairman of the board – rector, Professor Mukhtar Adilbekovich Tolegen, in cooperation with Professor Guido Amoretti and Professor Alessandro Figus. The main goal of the center is to strengthen cooperation with Italian universities and expand opportunities for learning the Italian language.
