AT SARSEN AMANZHOLOV EAST KAZAKHSTAN UNIVERSITY, A ROUND TABLE ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF DE&I PRINCIPLES IN CORPORATE CULTURE WAS HELD

At Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, a round table was held on the topic “How to integrate the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) into company culture, taking into account the realities of Kazakhstan.” The event was held as part of the research project AP23489784 “Social-psychological support for the formation of DE&I culture in Kazakhstani organizations.”

HR leaders, business psychologists, representatives of the scientific community, master’s students, and undergraduates participated in the round table, coming together to discuss current trends and challenges in implementing DE&I principles in Kazakhstan’s corporate and educational practice.

The main goal of the meeting was to create an expert platform for sharing experiences and adapting DE&I models to the cultural and social characteristics of Kazakhstan.

During the plenary session, Professor Natalya Ladzina presented a consultative model for psychological support in implementing DE&I culture, based on corporate readiness diagnostics, facilitation, coaching, and the development of employees’ emotional intelligence.

Elena Barabanova emphasized that DE&I principles are becoming a crucial factor for sustainable company development; however, in local practice, there is still a gap between formal equality and a genuine culture of acceptance. She noted the need for a systematic approach and educational programs that promote corporate inclusiveness.

Larisa Nazyrova highlighted the interaction of generations X, Y, Z, and Alpha in modern business, stressing the importance of strategies that combine traditions and innovations in corporate culture.

The final panel discussion focused on adapting international DE&I practices to Kazakhstani conditions, the role of HR services in shaping a culture of respect, and methods for evaluating the effectiveness of inclusive programs.

During a practical mini-session, participants identified three key steps for implementing DE&I principles in the corporate environment: first, training for leaders and employees; second, developing internal policies and feedback channels; third, conducting a corporate culture audit.

The outcome of the event was a general recognition of the importance of moving from declarative equality to a genuine culture of acceptance based on respect, dialogue, and trust as key elements of sustainable development in modern Kazakhstani business.
