AT SARSEN AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY, AN EDUCATIONAL AND INFORMATIVE EVENT TITLED “DECEMBER 16 – THE DAWN OF INDEPENDENCE” WAS HELD.
At the East Kazakhstan University named after Sarsen Amanzholov, an educational and informative event titled “December 16 – The Dawn of Independence” was organized ahead of Independence Day. The purpose of the event was to convey to young people the historical significance of the December events, strengthen national consciousness, and foster an understanding of the value of independence.
Independence is a historical milestone that uplifted the spirit of the nation and reinforced the state idea. During the event, topics such as the courage of the victims of the December events, national identity, and the struggle for freedom were discussed.
The meeting was opened by Zhanneta Kalimoldina, Vice-Rector for Educational and Social Work, who urged young people to respect the country’s history and appreciate every moment of independence. She emphasized that preserving independence is a sacred duty for every generation.
The following distinguished guests were invited to the event:
Maratbek Ramazanov — Chairman of the East Kazakhstan branch of the public association “Zheltoksan-86” and participant in the events of 1986. He spoke about the difficult and tragic moments of those days, conveyed the atmosphere of that complex but heroic period to the students, and helped the youth understand the cost at which independence was achieved.
Bakhytgul Bakuzhanova — public figure and specialist in patriotic education. She highlighted the steadfast spirit of Kazakh women, the importance of national values in youth education, and the contribution of women to the struggle for independence.
Umirzhan Shakaev — entrepreneur and activist. He spoke on the topic “Independence and Labor: The Path of Youth Development,” shared motivational thoughts about the importance of young people’s contributions to the country’s development, and emphasized the role of diligence and responsibility in personal growth.
The spiritual atmosphere of the event was enhanced by the performance of kyu by Ozatbek Meirban, who played Abiken Khasenov’s “Qongyr,” filling the hall with national sounds.
The event concluded with a question-and-answer session, where students interacted freely with the invited guests and asked questions of interest.
“Independence is not the glory of the past, but a great responsibility for the future.”
This educational and informative event renewed the historical consciousness of the youth, strengthened national spirit and patriotism. The university community will continue its work on fostering respect for the country’s history and developing a state-oriented worldview among future professionals.
