AT THE DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGY OF AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY, THE LATEST MEETING OF THE ACADEMIC COMMITTEE TOOK PLACE.

At the Department of Biology of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, the latest academic committee meeting was held, during which current issues concerning the department’s educational, scientific, and methodological activities were thoroughly discussed. In accordance with the agenda, strategic directions for the department’s development were considered, and specific tasks for the upcoming period were identified.

The first agenda item involved analyzing the results of scientific and methodological seminars, courses, joint projects with school students, and masterclasses conducted as part of the department’s scientific and educational-methodological work. The committee noted participants’ engagement, the effectiveness of the work carried out, scientific publications, and achieved outcomes. Proposals were also made to expand collaboration with schools and to systematically continue practice-oriented activities.

The second agenda item concerned the submission of the catalog of elective courses for all educational programs for the 2026–2027 academic year for approval. Program managers’ proposals were reviewed, with emphasis on updating course content and ensuring compliance with modern requirements and labor market demands. Following the discussion, the academic committee decided to recommend the catalog of elective courses for approval.

The third agenda item addressed preparations for the upcoming accreditation of the educational programs 8D01505 – “Biology” and 6B01505 – “Biology-Natural Sciences.” A detailed plan of activities was outlined, including preparing a self-assessment report, updating educational and methodological documentation, analyzing the material and technical base, and assigning responsible personnel.

Additionally, the committee reviewed the results of knowledge assessments for fourth-year students in the pedagogical track. Issues were raised regarding the improvement of assessment tools, updating test tasks, and supplementing the question bank with new competency-oriented items.

As a result of the meeting, decisions were made aimed at improving the quality of the Department of Biology’s work, enhancing educational programs, and increasing the effectiveness of scientific and methodological activities.
