EAST KAZAKHSTAN UNIVERSITY NAMED AFTER SARSEN AMANZHOLOV HELD THE MASTER CLASS “RECORD WITH THE NOMADIC CARPET”

At Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, the Higher School of IT and Natural Sciences, together with the Department of Physics and Technologies of the educational program “Vocational Training, Artistic Labor, and Graphics,” organized the master class “Record with the Nomadic Carpet.” The event took place in the professional creative workshop for arts and labor (room 307) of the university’s seventh academic building.

The main goal of the master class was to participate in the “Kөшпенділер көрпесі” project aimed at setting a record, in collaboration with the brand Aselina Batyr, and to promote national decorative and applied arts. As part of the project, a 2×2 meter quilt was sewn. Participants were shown simplified techniques for applique ornamentation and methods for stitching the “broken horn” pattern.

The session was conducted by chief specialist of IP “UAU” and eastern patchwork master Aizhan Toleukankyzy. Upon completion of the master class, participants received certificates confirming the knowledge and skills they acquired. Teachers of “Artistic Labor” from the East Kazakhstan region took part both in-person and online.

During the master class, participants combined traditional elements of national craft with modern technologies, improving both theoretical understanding and practical skills. Participants expressed their gratitude to the university leadership for the high level of organization of the event.
