EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING OF THE FAMILY: A SCIENTIFIC AND METHODOLOGICAL SEMINAR AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

At Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, a scientific and methodological seminar titled “Emotional Well-Being of the Family: Research and Practical Solutions” was held. The event was organized by the Center for Continuing and Inclusive Education DANA BALA with the support of the Russian House in Ust-Kamenogorsk. The seminar brought together teachers, psychologists, students, and master’s degree candidates, introducing them to modern approaches to supporting families and children with special educational needs.

The main goal of the seminar was to provide methodological and organizational assistance to professionals working with families facing challenges in upbringing and child adaptation. The program included lectures, discussions, and practical sessions focused on preventing social orphanhood, developing parental competencies, and strengthening the psychological well-being of families.

Special attention was given to international experience. Leading experts from the Russian educational organization ANO “Azbuka Schastlivoi Semi” (The ABC of a Happy Family), known for its family support programs and training of psychologists, were invited to conduct the seminar.

It is worth noting that Azbuka Schastlivoi Semi actively collaborates with educational institutions, trains specialists in effective methods of working with parents and children, develops “Sustainable Family” clubs, and is among the finalists of the federal competition “100 Strong Ideas of the New Time” by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.

Natalya Mishanina, leading methodologist and trainer-supervisor of ANO “Azbuka Sem’i”, delivered an interactive lecture titled “The ABC of a Happy Family: Traditional Family Values.” She emphasized that a child’s emotional stability is directly connected with the atmosphere at home:

“A child needs not only to hear words of love, but also to feel support and see the example of caring and confident adults. Only in such an environment can trust in the world, inner calm, and readiness to interact with others develop,” the expert noted.

Research fellow Anna Eselevich presented the results of a joint study by St. Petersburg State University and ANO “Azbuka Sem’i” on the relationship between children’s emotional states and the parental competencies of their mothers. The study showed that the psychological resilience of parents is a key factor in the harmonious development of a child.

The practical part featured a master class with training elements titled “Happy Parents — Happy Children,” where participants learned techniques to strengthen emotional bonds within the family. According to Candidate of Psychological Sciences and senior lecturer of the Department of Psychology and Special Pedagogy at EKU, Yuliya Kukina, such events are an important step in the development of a new direction within DANA BALA:

“For several years, we have been implementing programs for children with special educational needs. Now, it is important to complement this with systematic work with parents, because it is within the family that a child’s first ideas about trust, care, and safety are formed. These meetings help unite the efforts of specialists and parents for a common goal — the harmonious development of the child,” said Yuliya Kukina.

Participants praised the high level of organization and practical value of the seminar. The event became a platform for sharing professional experience, inspiring specialists to further development, and providing new tools for working with families and children. At the end of the seminar, all participants received certificates.
