INTERNATIONAL LIBRARY CONGRESS IFLA-2025

From August 18 to 22, Astana hosted the World Library and Information Congress (WLIC), organized by IFLA. The theme of WLIC was “Connecting Knowledge, Building the Future.” This is the first large-scale event held in Central Asia, bringing together 1,852 professionals from 114 countries around the world. A total of 454 librarians from Kazakhstan participated, which is a clear indication of the country’s growing role in the global library community.

The IFLA Congress is a unique platform for sharing experiences, discussing innovations, and jointly shaping the future of libraries.
The focus is on digitization, inclusiveness, and sustainable development.

One of the participants in the congress was Perizat Nuralieva, director of the B. Mamraev Library. Her participation was a recognition of her high professionalism and active contribution to the development of librarianship. At the congress, she took part in key discussions and established new professional connections.

Perizat Kuzyembayeva’s participation in IFLA-2025 inspires the team to implement innovative ideas and develop initiatives aimed at strengthening the role of libraries in modern society.
