NAURYZNAMA–2026: PROMOTING NATIONAL TRADITIONS

At Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, as part of the Digital Nauryz 2026 decade dedicated to the Nauryz holiday, students from the preparatory department held an educational cultural event focused on the traditions of “Selt Etkizer” and “Uykhashar.”

The main goal of the event was to introduce students to the rich cultural heritage of the Kazakh people, increase interest in national traditions, and broadly promote traditional values among the youth.

During the event, participants presented an informative program, explaining in detail the history and educational significance of these traditions. In particular, the “Uykhashar” tradition was showcased, in which girls prepare special treats for young men on the night of Nauryz. In turn, the young men show respect and attention by giving gifts as part of the “Selt Etkizer” tradition.

The event included theatrical performances reflecting national traditions and introduced guests to traditional Kazakh dishes. Folk melodies and national costumes created a festive atmosphere and added special depth to the event.

Vice-Rector for Educational and Social Work, Zhanneta Kalimoldina, highlighted the importance of such events in preserving and promoting national heritage.

At the conclusion of the event, the most active participants were presented with letters of appreciation from the university rector, recognizing and valuing their contribution.
